Walk-In & Same Day Piercing Manchester

Tuesday-Saturday 12-7pm

At Shallows, we take piercing services seriously, with the kind of care, materials, and precision you’d expect from a top rated studio.

We pride ourselves on going even further. We will curate the right piece, in the right place and in a way that makes you feel more like you.

We guide you through our specialised curation – explaining your anatomy, understanding your personal style. We want to know what feels missing, and what level of change you actually want to make.

Whether that is a subtle shift, structural upgrade, or something more bold.

Experienced piercers. Sterile processes, the best sterile set ups. Single-use needles. Implant-grade jewellery only — titanium, gold, and materials designed for the body.

But the outcome matters just as much as the process.

Whether you come in with a clear idea or no idea at all, you’ll be looked after from the first conversation through to healing and beyond.

It should feel easy.
It should feel exciting.

And when you leave, it should feel right.

what heals well

A good result is never just about the piercing itself.

Placement matters.
Anatomy matters.
The jewellery you start with matters, and so does the way you’re guided through the process.

We take the time to assess what will actually work for your body – what will heal cleanly, what will sit correctly over time, and what is better avoided.

Sometimes the right answer isn’t the one you came in expecting.
Part of doing this properly is being honest about that.

Standards matter too.

Single-use needles, sterile process, and implant-grade jewellery only – titanium, gold, and materials designed for the body. Everything is handled in a clean, controlled environment.

This isn’t an added extra.
It’s what determines whether a piercing heals well and lasts, or causes ongoing issues.

Hygiene and Safety Standards You Should Expect

A professional piercing environment should be clear, controlled, and consistent.

  • Hands are washed using appropriate antiseptics.
  • Fresh, single-use gloves are worn.
  • Sterile equipment is opened in front of you.
  • Jewellery is prepared correctly.
  • The area is cleaned before the procedure begins.

Everything should be handled in a way that is visible, deliberate, and unhurried.

These are not added extras.
They are the standard required for safe, effective piercing.

If anything is unclear, you should feel able to ask. A studio operating properly will always be transparent about its process.

Jewellery Choice and Quality

We use materials that are suitable for the body.  Implant-grade titanium, solid gold, and jewellery designed specifically for piercing. These are stable, non-reactive, and appropriate for fresh piercings.

Fit matters just as much as material. Fresh piercings are fitted with jewellery that allows room for swelling. As healing progresses, this is reduced through a scheduled downsize so the piece sits more comfortably and moves less.

Details like length, shape, and finish all affect how a piercing behaves while it heals.

We guide you through these choices – not just so it heals properly, but so it sits correctly and feels considered rather than generic.

Placement and Personal Anatomy

Placement should always be guided by anatomy.

No two ears, noses, or lips are the same, and not every placement will suit every body. Tissue shape, thickness, and how jewellery will sit all affect how a piercing heals and how it looks over time.

Part of doing this properly is knowing what will work – and what won’t.

Some placements simply aren’t suitable for certain anatomy. When that’s the case, we’ll be clear about it and suggest alternatives that will heal better and sit correctly.

Before anything is done, placement is carefully marked and shown to you. This allows you to check how it looks and make sure it feels right before going ahead.

Once completed, placement cannot be adjusted without removing the piercing and allowing it to heal. It’s a decision that needs to be made carefully, with the right guidance.

Arriving at Our Studio: What to Expect

When you arrive, you’ll be checked in and asked to complete a consent form with valid photo ID.

The studio is relaxed, but the work is taken seriously. The environment is active and considered – not clinical, but never chaotic.

If there is a short wait, there is seating while your piercer prepares your setup. Your piercer will prepare all equipment before you are seated, ensuring everything is ready and sterile before the procedure begins.

Before the procedure begins, we will run through the details with you – confirming placement, jewellery, and any relevant considerations. This is your opportunity to ask questions and make sure everything is clear.

Once you’re in the chair, the focus is on working calmly, hygienically, and with full attention to the process.

Everything is handled in a way that is deliberate and controlled.

Aftercare Support and Healing Guidance

Healing doesn’t end when the piercing is done. What happens in the weeks that follow has a direct impact on how well it settles.

Aftercare is kept simple and consistent.
In most cases, this means gentle cleaning with sterile saline, avoiding unnecessary handling, and allowing the piercing to heal without interference.

You will be guided on what to expect during each stage of healing — including what is normal, and what may need checking. Mild swelling, tenderness, and occasional crusting are all typical in the early stages.

Many common problems come from over-handling rather than neglect.
Harsh products, twisting jewellery, and excessive cleaning often slow healing rather than improve it.

Healing is also managed in stages.

As swelling reduces, jewellery may need to be downsized so it sits correctly and moves less. This is part of the process, not an optional extra.

If anything feels off at any point, you can return to the studio for advice and support.

Consistent, minimal care and a bit of patience will always give the best result.
